Ravio Patra and a screenshot of the message calling for looting sent through his WhatsApp account was allegedly hacked.
Cyberthreat.id - Three months after the Ravio Patra WhatsApp hacking case was reported, the National Police have yet to announce its progress.
This has lead to Ravio Patra's attorney to ask questions, after the police took no longer than a week to apprehend the perpetrator in the Denny Siregar and Telkomsel leak case.
"We would like to see the same treatment that was given to Denny Siregar," one of Ravio's attorney, Alghiffari Aqsa said to Cyberthreat.id on Wednesday.
According to Aqsa, it would be easy for the police to find who hacked into Ravio's WhatsApp account.
"If they [the police] used their technological capacity, we presume that this hacking case would be easily solved because the police have complete tools," said Aqsa.
Aqsa said the hacking incident case that was reported a week after Ravio was arrested was still under investigations by the Jakarta Metro Police.
"A witness, Damar, has been summoned, but has not answered," he said.
Previously a member of the House of Representatives from the Gerindra faction, Habiburokhman, voiced similar questions.
"The data breach of Denny Siregar was reported on July 8 2020, and a suspect was arrested on July 9 2020. The hacking of Ravio Patra's WhatsApp account was reported on April 27, when can a suspect be found? What differentiates these two cases?," writes Habiburokhman on his Twitter account @habiburokhman accessed on Saturday.
Habiburokhman is of the mind that whoever is responsible must be caught, but "one homework for those upholding the rule of law is realizing 'Equality Before the Law,' do not prioritize those closer to the government and ignore the rest [of the people]," he said.
Previously, Director of Criminal Investigation and Chief Commissioner of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Tubagus Ade Hidayat said that he had contacted WhatsApp and Facebook representatives regarding the case according to report by Media Indonesia on June 19.
Tubagus added that the investigation was limited to seeking clarification and had not been included in an official police report.
"We need to bring in an expert, but this is still being discussed," he said.
